Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we will have to make some adaptations to our class offerings
Temperature checks at the door (students will be sent home if they have a fever)
Masks worn at all times indoors
Classes limited to 15 students
Bathroom sanitized after each use
All surfaces would be disinfected and cleaned between sessions and at the end of the day.
2021 Classes We are waiting on community conditions to return to phase 4 so we can offer classes again. In the meantime, we are on hold for offering in person classes.
Update: I apologize for the lack in communication the last month. Carissa's mom went in for routine knee surgery and ended up with a terrible infection. Two more surgeries later and she can walk 100 ft and lift her own leg into bed. These may sound like small accomplishments, but they are huge gains from where we were 6 weeks ago!
We are anxiously awaiting the time when we can teach Artapalooza classes again. Once we hit phase 4 again we will be offering our normal classes - we are hopeful we will be able to offer a Martin Luther King Jr. Day session, but we need to keep an eye on community conditions. The church will allow us the space once we are in phase 4.
In the meantime, if you have a desire for a zoom class (I know most of us are sick of zoom) we would be happy to put one together over the holidays. We had a great time at our 4 week painting class and have already planned for the next to be a printmaking class.
Be safe and have a happy holiday! We can't wait to see you all again soon! We will update everyone once community conditions have changed.
G & Z’s Artapalooza is a fine arts camp run by two local teaching artists, Lisa Garrett & Carissa Zill. Our intention is to provide a rich, unique art experience where students are challenged to develop a higher level understanding of art.
We believe that each individual is capable of greatness when expressing themselves through art. Through exercising their imaginations, the arts help students to make new connections, transcend previous limitations and think “outside of the box.” Students are asked to bring only their open minds!
